Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)
-
The central theme of STARCULT. Night: Twisted Age is how human emotions influence relationships—how people express them, how they interpret them, and how they use them (whether accidentally or intentionally).
-
Yes, you can play the demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4517570/STARCULT_Night_Twisted_Age/
The current Demo takes around 4 hours to finish if you explore every possibility.
We’re planning to release an extended demo in September 2026, which will take around 8 hours to fully explore.
-
The demo was released on 27 July on Steam. The extended demo will be released in September 2026.
We’re planning to release the full game in three acts, starting from November 2026. Act One will release in November, followed by free updates for Act Two in December and Act Three in early 2027.
Each act has its own complete plot, but the global story and your relationships with other characters will evolve and continue throughout all three acts.
-
How spicy is the romance? Is there any 18+ content?
There are images of naked bodies, but these are just flavour on top of the plot, so we keep them artistically censored.
-
All nine characters are romanceable, but five of them feature most prominently in the main plot (Baltazar, Matthew, Hans, Gilbert and Cassiopeia).
-
Yes, it is possible to romance one of the main female characters (Cassiopeia) and one of the secondary female characters (Willow).
The secondary character romance plot is shorter in terms of playtime, but it is also meaningful and reveals more about the world/story.

Our Emotion choice tool allows players to express the personality of the main character (MC) in game scenes. Using a specific Emotion does not mean that the MC is then locked into the "angry route" or “sad route” from then on. Using Emotions can provoke other characters to do what the MC wants (or be misunderstood and get her into trouble).
It's just like in real life: if you react strangely or inappropriately in certain situations, it doesn't mean you will always react that way, but the people around you may notice and react immediately or at a later time. The characters will remember what the MC said and did to them.
While developing this game, we tried to base it on empathy, ensuring that each character had their own motivations and goals. The better the MC understands them, the more options she has for building relationships with them. We expect players to react to each dialogue choice with natural curiosity and decide for themselves which kind of person the MC should be in their current playthrough.

We have a crazy amount of branching in the game.

This is possible thanks to the Character Relationship Sketchbook, which illustrates current and historical relationship changes with other characters from the perspective of the main character (MC).
If you're worried about tracking the main plot and your character relationships, the main character (MC) and the other characters involved in the investigation (the first plot hook) will keep track of what is going on.
Of course, depending on your choices, there are a crazy number of ways the story can flow. With this in mind, we are implementing a corresponding number of achievements to provide another way to track overall game progress. If players get confused during the demo release, we will consider how to improve this.
