1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or playing Starcult.Night: Twisted Age (the "Game"), developed by NOT A CAT STUDIOS ("Developer," "we," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("ToS"). If you do not agree to these terms, you must not play the Game.

2. Eligibility

Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to play the Game. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Account Ownership: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Steam or Discord account credentials.

3. License to Play

  • We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use the Game for personal, non-commercial use only.

  • No Resale: You may not sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Game.

  • No Reverse Engineering: You may not decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the Game's code.

4. Content Creation & Streaming Policy

NOT A CAT STUDIOS encourages and supports the Starcult Night: Twisted Age content creation community. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to create, publish, and monetize content featuring the Game on any platform (including but not limited to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Facebook Gaming).

What You Can Do:

  • Monetization: You are explicitly permitted to monetize your content through platform ad revenue, sponsorships, donations, and platform-specific creator funds.

  • Let's Plays & Reviews: You may upload full playthroughs, commentary videos, reviews, and reaction content.

  • Fan Works: You may create fan art, animations, and remixes using assets from the Game.

  • Demo & Early Access: This policy applies to all publicly available versions of the Game, including the Demo and Early Access builds.

What You Cannot Do:

  • Misrepresentation: You may not present your content as official, endorsed, or produced by NOT A CAT STUDIOS.

  • Commercial Resale: You may not sell the Game's source assets, music files, or raw game files as standalone products.

  • Hateful Content: You may not use the Game's content to promote hate speech, discrimination, or illegal activities.

  • Spoilers: While not legally binding, we kindly ask that you use spoiler warnings for major narrative twists to respect the community.

  • Attribution: We appreciate (but do not strictly require) that you include a link to the official Steam page or our website in your video descriptions.

  • Ownership: You retain full ownership of your original creative contributions (commentary, editing, facecam). NOT A CAT STUDIOS retains all rights to the underlying Game assets. This license is revocable only if you violate these Terms of Service.

5. Third-Party Platforms (Steam & Discord)

  • The Game interacts with third-party platforms. You acknowledge that:

  • Valve Corporation (Steam): The Game may use the Steam SDK. Your use of Steam is governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

  • Discord: The Game may integrate with Discord for community features. Your use of Discord is governed by the Discord Terms of Service.

  • Liability: NOT A CAT STUDIOS is not responsible for the actions, downtime, or policy changes of these third-party platforms.

6. User Conduct & Code of Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Cheating: Use hacks, bots, mods, or any unauthorized software to gain an unfair advantage.

  • Harassment: Engage in hate speech, bullying, sexual harassment, or doxxing in in-game chat or official Discord channels.

  • Exploitation: Exploit game bugs or glitches for personal gain.

  • Malware: Distribute viruses or malicious code through the Game.

  • Violation of these rules may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the Game and our community servers.

7. User Content & Community

  • Your Content: You retain ownership of any content you create (e.g., screenshots, fan art). However, by posting in our official Discord or forums, you grant us a license to display, share, and promote that content for non-commercial purposes.

  • Moderation: We reserve the right to remove any content or ban users from our Discord community for violating our Code of Conduct.

8. Digital Goods & Purchases

  • In-Game Purchases: Any in-game items, currency, or DLC purchased via Steam or Discord are non-refundable, except where required by law (e.g., EU Right of Withdrawal within 14 days for unused digital content).

  • No Real-World Value: Virtual items have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash outside of official platform marketplaces.

  • Item Loss: We are not responsible for the loss of virtual items due to account compromise, server issues, or ban actions.

9. Intellectual Property

All content in the Game, including art, music, code, characters, and the Starcult name, is the exclusive property of NOT A CAT STUDIOS or its licensors. You may not use our IP for commercial projects without written permission.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

"As Is" Basis: The Game is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Game will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, NOT A CAT STUDIOS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Game.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Discord server or in-game online environment at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you via the Game or our website if significant changes are made. Continued play after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
